NEW SPECTRUM SERIES “THE BITE” BEGINS STREAMING MAY 21

Pandemic-related Satirical Drama Features Leslie Uggams as Dr. Hester Boutella

THE BITE, a Spectrum Original series written by Robert and Michelle King (The Good Fight, BrainDead, Evil), will stream free on demand on Spectrum beginning May 21. This horrifying and hilarious new satirical drama follows the lives of two New York City neighbors, Rachel and Lily, as they juggle everday life, careers, relationships...and possibly...the end of the world?

Leslie Uggams plays Dr. Hester Boutella, a Nobel Prize-winning epidemiologist whose fervent hope is for her daughter, Rachel (Audra McDonald), to abandon her cushy concierge doctor practice and follow in her footsteps as a research scientist working for the good of the human race. When Rachel and her upstairs neighbor Lily (Taylor Schilling) find themselves trapped in their apartments when a deadly new strain of a virus arrives, they become unlikely partners in trying to save the world.

The all-star cast includes Steven Pasquale, Will Swenson, Phillipa Soo, and a host of Broadway veterans making cameo appearances as New Yorkers who fall victim to the deadly virus. Real-life couples were cast in order to maintain COVID-19 protocols while filming in their homes.

THE BITE is available free on demand exclusively to Spectrum video subscribers. Viewers with Spectrum internet but not cable can upgrade their service to the Spectrum Stream or Choice packages in order to watch on their device of choice using the Spectrum app.
